Frequently Asked Questions
-
At Royal Home Finishing, we are owner-operated. This ensures that the "Royal Standard" of quality is maintained on every square inch of your home. We do not pass your project off to random crews; we are on-site overseeing every detail from prep to the final walkthrough.
-
We offer flexible pricing based on project type and complexity. After an initial conversation, we’ll provide a transparent quote with no hidden costs.
-
We handle everything. Part of our professional service is sourcing and delivering top-of-the-line products from brands like Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams. Using high-quality, high-solids paint ensures better coverage and a more durable finish for your home.
-
Choosing the right shade can be overwhelming. While we don't pick the color for you, we offer professional guidance on finishes (matte, eggshell, satin) and how light will react with specific tones in your space. For larger projects, we can provide oversized color samples or refer you to our network of interior designers to ensure your vision comes to life perfectly.
-
Before we pack up our tools, we perform a rigorous 360-degree inspection with the client. We use high-output work lights to catch any minor imperfections that the naked eye might miss in natural light. We aren't finished until you’ve signed off on every corner of the project.
-
Yes. If you don't have the original paint can, we use high-precision digital color-matching technology. We take a small sample from your wall and match it to the nearest professional grade equivalent from Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams to ensure a seamless blend.
-
We primarily operate during standard business hours to ensure our crew is sharp and focused. However, for commercial projects or tight builder deadlines, we can arrange for "after-hours" work to ensure your project stays on schedule without disrupting your business or family life.
-
We are experts in both. In lived-in homes, our priority is containment—using dustless sanding and zip-walls to protect your daily life. In new construction, our priority is timeline integration—working seamlessly with other trades to ensure the painting phase happens at the optimal time for a flawless finish.
-
It’s entirely up to you. Many of our clients provide a key or a garage code. We are a licensed, background-checked, and family-owned business—respecting your privacy and property is a core value. We keep a tidy job site and ensure your home is locked and secure every time we leave.
-
For oversized items like pianos, large armoires, or heavy beds, we ask that you clear off any breakables or electronics. Our team will then carefully move the items to the center of the room and "capsule" them in heavy-duty plastic to ensure they stay 100% dust and paint-free.
-
It happens! Lighting in a room can change throughout the day. If you decide the color isn't what you envisioned after the first coat, we can pivot. Because we value the "Royal" result over just finishing the job, we’ll work with you to adjust the shade and get it right, only charging for the additional material and labor required for the change.
-
"Contractor Grade" is thin, cheap, and often fades or marks easily. At Royal Home Finishing, we exclusively use Premium lines (like Benjamin Moore Aura or Sherwin-Williams Emerald). These paints have higher solids, meaning they are more durable, easier to wash, and keep their "just painted" look for years longer than the cheap stuff.
